Editor review

CareerBuilder has made tremendous strides since the early days of the monkey commercials - where everyone was trying to figure out if CareerBuilder was actually a contender. Well, CareerBuilder is here to stay and is leading the pack.

CareerBuilder added a twist on things and began partnering with and hosting several job boards on newspaper and niche sites. This helps get more exposure to your jobs and your resume in some unexpected places. CareerBuilder is currently ahead of Monster and HotJobs and has been keeping it fresh. Its a little pricey to post a job but worth it if your company is paying for it.

CareerBuilder seems a step above HotJobs but not as good as Monster, in my opinion. It's search capabilities are more advanced than Hotjobs', but you can't have your results sent to an RSS feed, forcing you to always come back to the site or get new jobs in email. The number of results for non-profit jobs in and around Oakland seemed about the same as Monster's until I realized it also included nursing and other medical-related jobs; taking them out, it's probably about as productive as HotJobs. The potential is there to be on Monster's level, but CareerBuilder is not there right now.

I posted my resume on Careerbuilder.com and periodically received (and still am receiving) emails w/ job recommendations. But I thought Dice was better

because for tech jobs because I was able to speak to a real person about the position available.
